All Lives Matter

Doctor King’s dream was clear, But the police don’t seem to care. Blacks are still being treated unfair. Mama, don’t shed another tear. There are riots in the streets. I wonder if we’ll ever live in peace. It’s like a repeat of the sixties. Some of them will be arrested. Don’t matter if we’re yellow or brown. We don’t need to be gunned down. So, drop your weapons y’all. Another brother doesn’t need to fall. Some say there’s improvement, We don’t need the civil rights movement. Obama became President, But I say that’s irrelevant. All lives matter but consider the facts. Who’s being beaten and shot in the back? At age 14 Emmett Till shouldn’t be dead. Or should Samuel DuBose been shot in the head. 24 unarmed black men killed in 2015. All shot by police though a gun wasn’t seen. David Felix died for stealing a purse. I keep thinking of You.

A few times I wanted to say, I didn't want you to go away. Just hold me, love me today. I keep thinking and dreaming of you. I recall the day that we met. Your face I could never forget. I was sure you hadn't seen me. But must have heard my foot steps. I was running towards you. But then I never truly knew. The one loved, I never out grew. Still I keep thinking and dreaming of you. I read a magazine review. In all the pictures I saw you. And I missed you even more. But I'm sure you didn't know. I was running towards you. But then I never truly knew. The one loved I never out grew. Still I keep thinking and dreaming of you . "The Cry of our Children." Poems by Ruth Garnes  Buy it by selecting the link below. The Heart of my heart

Image
The heart of my heart important to my wellbeing, warms me by his choosing. Beats like as drum, rhythmic as it goes on. Sings songs of praise, holds unto me. Comforts in my moment of need. Dances with the breeze like poppies in a field, symbolic of our love, blossomed from care 'til I became certain, realized his importance. Rested peacefully with him. "The Cry of our Children."
