Loved him for himself

Picking bills from his wallet,
as if, they were worth millions.
He had less than his insinuation.
Money gave him significance.

Found him to be dashingly handsome.
Prince I was waiting on. Cherished him, not money,
or his appearance, but selected him.
Not knowing who he was.

He winked and smiled,
I was flattered, loved his potentials.
And it was time that I had a companion.
Failed to see he was pretentious.

While he believed I was gorgeous,
He was never secure,
Or could he express love appropriately.
