Childhood Reference!

Image
In an unfamiliar thorny place, my grandparent’s home once stood. Gone were the sounds of voices. Sign of life swallowed up. The spot where we played, path our footsteps made where grass faded, gone. So were my childhood references. Wind and tress alone amused. I stood perplexed, uncertain of what I was sure of. Still memories persisted.

Every Morning is another chance

Every morn is another chance. To start a new, try again, appreciate new life, add beauty to your moment, not what's behind, but awaits, Do what our heart tells us to. Another morn's a chance to love, let go of, Embrace, do better, improve on, help someone. Every morning is new, a blessing as long as there's life. Every morn we can start anew. Revive our spirit, relationship, forgive, persevere until we've reached our climax. Get a copy of Ruth Garnes e-book here

Not Enough

It is not enough to know, and not act. Not enough to promise and not do. Say love, but never hold. Listen but not acknowledge, not enough to be apart of secretly. Not enough if I can't let go of, is without. Not enough when time is gone. My moment runs out and all remains unchanged.

Fragrance Sticks!!

Positive thinking lifts one's spirit. Like the aroma of great perfume. Same is true of those who support you. Surround your self with encouraging people. Remember fragrance sticks, Like praise wordy actions. Say something nice to one, then two. Let it become the trend started by you. Buy my book of poems by selecting this link.

Shoeless and unresticted!

Image
Became a Stribu model barefooted. One of many but a unique person. Wore a shirt I bought from Walmart. A denim skorts from Jcp. My teenage daughter was humiliated. I felt great, forgot my illness, heartaches. Stood proud clothe in my brown skin. Whoever withheld, restricted, am free of cancer though it ravishes. I stripped for my child who's ashamed, others who don't know, cannot afford screening. For the homeless, those who cannot afford shoes, I stood for you. Am thankful for all I have, am given. Most importantly for life. My gift to those who are no longer, at the early stages, the end. I stood shoeless and unrestricted. buy by book of poems "The Cry of our Children"

I loved you completely

Image
I loved you completely. Not only with words. You won't be second or third, but desired, as my first. The woman, I waited for. My help, beacon of light. Thought of constantly. Just didn't know where to find you. That you were what I needed. To be complete, Filled my longing with others, but I'll love you more than any. You will be my number one. My perfect companion, queen. I'll give you all my affection. from this moment on. Buy my book of poems by selecting this link.

Panhandling in LA

Image
This is going to be my year. Am going Big or Homeless. The poet I met agrees, it might also be hers. In this City filled with dreams. Met her in the streets, asked her for a dollar. She questioned me. A hip hop artist! Are you for real? Panhandling in Los Angeles. Trying to get by each day and the week. A producer's recording my music for free. I'll either make it big or go homeless. She said, she wanted one thing of me, as she handed me the money. I was to give her a shout out. 'N I agreed. Posted a photo on instagram, but didn't mention her. Panhandling in Los Angeles. Trying to get by each day and the week. A producer's recording my music for free. I'll either make it big or go homeless. But this is going to be my year. Things has started to happen. Everyone will soon hear my music, And perhaps get to know that poet.

Beauty and the Beast

Mistake or did time drained him of beauty? Placed him on a pedestal, he stepped all over me. I was naïve, deceived, or confused him with another? Did life disfigured him? was that beast the same person? love I desired ripped my heart out, another restored, made me happy. Lost the one I turned from. Another stands where  that monster stood, his beauty I can clearly see. Buy my book of poems by selecting this link
